Distributor Marketing Guidelines
Section 1: Hogan Brand Language
Hogan Name Conventions
When discussing Hogan in marketing materials versus legal contracts, it’s important to use the correct form of the name. Marketing communications should reference Hogan clearly but simply. Legal or contractual documents must use Hogan's full legal name.
Correct names for marketing materials:
- Hogan Assessments
- Hogan
Correct name for legal and official contracting:
- Hogan Assessment Systems, Inc. (Not to be used for marketing purposes)
Incorrect and prohibited variations:
- Hogan Assessments Systems
- Hogan Assessments System
- Hogan Assessment
- HAS
Use the correct name depending on your context to maintain brand consistency and avoid legal confusion.
Boilerplate Descriptions
Boilerplate copy is a standard block of text that provides a consistent, ready-to-use description of a company, product, or service. It ensures clear, credible, and efficient communication across marketing, PR, and sales materials.
Use these pre-approved descriptions of Hogan in your marketing materials:
47 words:

More than 75% of the Fortune 500 rely on Hogan's talent acquisition and development solutions to hire the right people, retain key talent, and develop leaders across managerial levels.

Describing Your Relationship to Hogan
Always make it clear that your company is an authorized distributor of Hogan Assessments — not Hogan itself. Even if you are the only distributor in your country or region, do not use language that implies exclusivity, special status, or that you represent Hogan as an official branch of the company. Distributors cannot represent Hogan research as their own.
Distributors should describe themselves simply as an authorized distributor of Hogan Assessments, and should not suggest they are Hogan HQ, the exclusive or preferred distributor, or hold any designation that implies sole representation of Hogan in a market.
In markets where more than one Hogan distributor is active, do not position your company as a replacement for another distributor or suggest that another distributor is no longer operating. Messaging like this can create confusion among clients and damage trust in the Hogan brand.
Distributors can say:
- “An authorized Hogan distributor”
- “[Your Company] is a Hogan distributor in [region].”
Distributors cannot say:
- “The Hogan authorized distributor”
- “Official Hogan distributor”
- “Hogan [Country]”
- “We are Hogan”
