Distributor Marketing Guidelines

Section 6: Social Media Guidelines

Account Names and Handles

Distributors must use their own company name for all social media handles and display names. Do not include “Hogan” in your social media handles, page names, or URLs.

Correct: @YourCompanyName Incorrect: @HoganDistributor[Country] or @[YourCompany]HoganDistributor

Best Practices for Company Handles:

  • Keep handles short and clean — use only your company name (e.g., @DistributorName).
  • Avoid taglines or slogans in handles or page names.
  • Do not add spaces after the handle name; it can cause display issues in posts.
  • Minimize punctuation; only use necessary punctuation if needed for clarity.

Tagging, Hashtags, and Company Descriptions

To strengthen your brand visibility while maintaining proper use of Hogan branding:

  • Tag correctly: Always tag @Hogan Assessments when referencing Hogan in social media posts. Also tag your own company name when appropriate.
  • Use official hashtags: Include #HoganPersonality in posts referencing Hogan to appear in Hogan’s hashtag feed.
  • Follow brand usage guidelines: Continue to apply all previously stated guidance around accurate brand language and positioning (e.g., always present your company as an authorized distributor, not Hogan HQ).
  • Maintain brand individuality: Do not copy or slightly modify Hogan’s established taglines (such as “The Science of Personality” or “We Predict Performance”). Use your social presence to reflect your company’s unique brand voice while aligning with Hogan standards.

Summary Tip:

  • Your social media account = your brand.
  • When referencing Hogan = tag correctly, respect guidelines, and highlight your unique value.

Sharing Hogan Content

Consistent social media posting helps brands expand their reach, engage audiences, and build community. Hogan regularly produces original social media content and encourages distributors to use it to strengthen their own social media presence.

Important: Hogan retains the copyright for all original content and reserves the right to approve or deny how it is used. Please follow these guidelines to properly share Hogan content:

Approved Uses:

  • Repost Hogan’s original content (e.g., podcasts, carousels, blogs, webinars, graphics) using your own caption or commentary to offer additional insight or regional relevance.
  • Share directly from Hogan’s official posts or web pages when linking to content such as podcast episodes or webinar recordings.

What Not to Do:

  • Do not recreate, redesign, or modify Hogan-branded visuals or graphics.
  • Example: Do not create your own graphic to promote the Science of Personality podcast. Instead, repost from Hogan’s official post or from the episode web page that includes the approved podcast graphic.

Translations:

  • If a translated version of a Hogan graphic or visual is needed, you must request a translation through Hogan Marketing following the steps outlined in the Translation section of this guide.

By adhering to these guidelines, distributors can help protect Hogan’s brand integrity while maximizing their own visibility and credibility online.

Using Hogan Content in Your Branded Social Media Posts

Distributors are permitted to create social media assets using Hogan’s original content within their own branding, as long as the following guidelines are followed to maintain brand consistency and protect Hogan’s intellectual property.

Content Creation Guidelines:

  • Credit Hogan properly - Always use attribution when using Hogan content. (e.g., “Adapted from content originally published by Hogan Assessments.”)
  • Maintain the integrity of the content - Messaging, facts, key talking points must not be altered or reinterpreted.
  • Use the correct logo - Use the Hogan Authorized Distributor logo alongside your company’s logo. Do not use the main Hogan corporate logo.
  • Submit assets for approval - All custom social media assets or graphics incorporating Hogan content must be submitted to Hogan Marketing prior to publication.

Requesting Support:

  • Distributors may request that existing Hogan-branded graphics be rebranded with the Authorized Distributor logo. Contact Hogan Marketing for assistance with these requests.

Template Approval Process:

  • If creating reusable templates (such as for carousels or other recurring formats) that include Hogan content and the Authorized Distributor logo, templates must be submitted to Hogan Marketing for prior review and approval.
  • Note: Once a template is approved, it may be reused for future posts without needing to seek approval for each individual asset, streamlining the process.
